The martial art of Tang Soo Do is relatively modern. However, its basis, the Korean art of Soo Bahk Do, dates back many centuries. 

Tang Soo Do is both a hard and soft style, deriving its hardness in part from Soo Bahk and its soft flowing movements from the northern Chinese system

Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan (a brotherhood and school of stopping inner and outer conflict and developing virtue according to the way of the worthy hand) is not a sport. Though it is not essentially competitive, it has great combat applications. It is a classical martial art, and its purpose is to develop every aspect of the self, in order to create a mature personality who totally integrates his intellect, body, emotions, and spirit. This total integration helps to create a person who is free from inner conflict and who can deal with the outside world in a mature, intelligent, forthright, and virtuous manner.

Worksop Dolphins is a competitive Club and our aim is to produce swimmers who represent Worksop in Nottinghamshire Leagues, County, Regional and National competitions. 

Volunteer helpers are always needed in many varieties.  The Committee and coaches run the club on a day-to-day basis and the Parents' Association supports the Club by fundraising through the swim shop etc.

There are three levels of walks each week: a short walk of approximately 45 to 60 minutes; a medium walk of between approximately 60 and 90minutes and a long  walk of approximately 90 minutes. In addition an "entry level" walk of approximately 10 to 30 minutes is available, please ring for details.

The walks usually take place on the footpaths, bridleways and some farm tracks to the east of the Golf Club, however we do have a few "away day" walks visiting different sites in the area.

Refreshments are available in the Club House after walks so that we can unwind and put the world to rights.

Regretfully dogs are not allowed on any of our walks except for Assistance Dogs.

Regular coach trips are arranged by some of our leaders, and we have an annual Christmas Lunch.

Support group is open to anyone who has had cardiac problems.  Meetings take place 2:30 - 4:30 on the first Friday of every month

Safe, effective and fun exercise sessions to help prevent falls, improve confidence and independence and improve posture.

Sessions are delivered by a fully qualified chair based exercise leader, fully insured and a member of REPS (register for exercise professionals). 

The exercises consist of strength and balance training and can be adapted to suit all needs.

Being active can have a positive effect on how we feel and can actually increase our energy levels and help us with day to day activities. 

Exercise sessions also enable us to be socially interactive whilst being in a safe, friendly environment.

Nottinghamshire County Council’s Public Health have commissioned a new and exciting website ‘Health for Kids’ which will be managed by the Youth Service. The website is due to be launched in January 2019.

Health for Kids is a health promotion website offering information in a fun and interactive way for primary school children, parents/carers and teachers. The website will offer local news on upcoming events, campaigns, blogs, articles and useful information about services available to children within Nottinghamshire. The website aims to help promote the health and wellbeing of children aged 5-11 years. 

Moving forward, the Youth Service will also be managing the Health for Teens Website, which was launched back in January 2016. Health for Teens offers health and wellbeing advice and information to young people aged 11-19, promoting a healthy body and mind. The site provides local information on relevant services to signpost young people to within Nottinghamshire.

As a service we would like to inform you of how to contact us in regards to supporting the websites to ensure the information we include on the local pages is up to date and relevant for Nottinghamshire. For example, if you have an event you would like us to promote to children, young people, parents or carer, or if you have a campaign that is running locally we can publicise these on the Health for kids or Teens Website’s.

We would also like to request you to promote the relevant website to the appropriate age group through your service. We have a range of publicity material available electronically and a limited supply of hard copies.

Welcome to Blyth Cricket Club, Nottinghamshire

This year (2019) we have a 1st XI in Division Two of the Bassetlaw & District Cricket League, and a 2nd XI in Division Seven. We also have a Sunday friendly / development team. New this year is our womens team who hope to play Sunday & midweek friendly hard & soft ball games.

At junior level we run KwikCricket nights for under-11s on Friday nights throughout the season, and we have an under-11 team in the Bassetlaw Junior League. We encourage juniors aged 13 upwards to transition into our Sunday & 2nd teams.

Membership of the club is open to anybody with an interest in the game, regardless of age, gender or ability, and we also welcome social members who enjoy watching the game at our picturesque North Nottinghamshire ground.
