We manage over 9,500 homes and house more than 20,000 tenants across the East Midlands in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.
We employ over 1,100 members of staff, and have a commitment to training and apprenticeships. We offer fantastic staff benefits.
Our annual turnover is over £80 million, and our properties are worth over £500 million. In 2013, we celebrated our 40th anniversary. At 45 years old, we are still going strong!
We provide care and support across the East Midlands, with over 990,000 hours of care provided in 2018/2019 for the most vulnerable people in society. Our work covers mental health, learning disabilities, domestic violence, Asian elders, vulnerable young people, homelessness, teenage parents and older persons, whether they need a place to live or support in their own homes.
We’ve been developing new homes since 1973, and are working in partnership with 19 local authorities to build new affordable homes that meet local needs. This includes homes for sale, rent (at affordable rents, as well as market and intermediate levels), shared ownership, and ‘try before you buy’ schemes.
Our Framework Delivery Agreements with the Homes England (HE), for the years 2015-21 are to develop around 800 new homes through the Affordable Homes and Shared Ownership programme.
We are a lead member of the Blue Skies Consortium, a group of 14 housing associations, and an investment partner directly with the HE outside of the consortium for other programmes and initiatives.
Pitch, formally known as POD, is a consultancy registered as a Limited Liability Partnership jointly owned by Longhurst Group and NCHA. Pitch was formed in 2005 with the purpose of providing development services to other Housing Associations and Local Authorities to enable the delivery of more affordable homes for families and people in housing need.
We conduct regular surveys with our tenants: 91% of them are satisfied with the service we provide [STAR survey 2017]. This puts us in the top quartile of housing associations for customer satisfaction. We are accredited by the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS).
Underpinning everything that NCHA does is a commitment to equality and diversity, value for money, social responsibility, adding social value and delivering our core values of:
- Caring - We care about what we do and the way we do it
- Lean - We learn, improve and put the customer first to get better results
- Enthusiastic - We are engaged and motivated to make a difference
- Accountable - We are answerable for what we do and don't do
- Resilient - We are ready to respond to opportunities and challenges.

Households who have a pre-payment meter AND have been adversely effected by COVID-19. i.e. loss of income (furloughed, made redundant) OR are at risk of self-disconnection.

Armed Forces Day 2020
The Armed Forces Day flag has been proudly flying in Worksop and Retford market squares all week.
We would like to thank all members of the Armed Forces past and present for their service to our country and in our communities.
This year we celebrate our #MercianWarriors, past and present, and are grateful for all they have achieved this year through their continued selfless commitment and dedication to serve the nation. Working alongside NATO partners and other allies, they continue to deliver security at home and abroad. Adaptable and ready, most recently regular and reserve soldiers of The Mercian Regiment have been deployed across the country, assisting with the delivery of self-administered COVID-19 tests to those in need.
Leaving the armed forces can have a huge impact on your life and your family. Not only must you find a new job and housing, but also settle your family into schools, jobs and social activities.
A wide range of services are available from Bassetlaw District Council and our partner organisations that can help with your resettlement.
Bassetlaw District Council has marked its support for the local services community by adopting an Armed Forces Community Covenant.
The covenant is a voluntary statement of mutual support between a civilian community and its local armed forces representatives. It not only recognises the contribution of serving personnel, their families and veterans but importantly it identifies practical ways the Council can help them access support to help them adjust to life after leaving the services.
In turn, the armed forces promote ties with the local community and offer support wherever they can.
Other partners and local groups, have also signed up to the principles in the Community Covenant, including Nottinghamshire Police, local NHS services, Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue, Job Centre Plus, and BCVS on behalf of local voluntary and community services.
You can read the Bassetlaw Community Covenant for additional information.
There are a range of national and local support services listed here. There are also local organisations that welcome ex forces personnel and their families to join them.
