About See, Hear, Respond
The See, Hear, Respond Partnership is a new service funded by the Department for Education. With your help, the See, Hear, Respond Partnership will quickly identify and support children, young people and families who are struggling to cope with the impacts of coronavirus.
Its aim is to provide early intervention before these children reach the threshold for statutory intervention.
See, Hear, Respond does not replace your usual referral process for children who meet a statutory threshold for significant harm: such referrals must be made to your local authority safeguarding team using your usual safeguarding procedures. To refer someone into the See Hear Respond service, or if you're a member of the public, please choose from one of our links below.
The See, Hear, Respond Partnership has been created specifically to help children and young people in England who are experiencing harm and increased adversity during coronavirus, by providing support to those who are not being seen by schools or other key agencies. There is no minimum threshold for referral. We will support children from pre-birth up to 18 years of age and those with special educational needs under the age of 25.
See, Hear, Respond will contact every referral made to us, so no child gets missed. We’ll then find a partner best placed to support the most isolated and at risk children in your area.
They’ll get help in one or more of four ways: an online hub of support and information, online counselling and therapy, face-to-face support for those most affected and at risk of some of today’s most pertinent issues, such as criminal exploitation, and helping children and young people reintegrate back into school.
We especially want to invite referrals for families who are most isolated from support due to Covid-19, including Under 5s with a specific focus on under 2s, those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and where there are concerns about their welfare e.g. online safety, children and young people experiencing anxiety, stress and other mental health difficulties, children who may be at increased risk of abuse, neglect and exploitation inside or outside of the home, Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee children who experience barriers to accessing services and young carers.
Covid-19 is affecting us all, but some more than others.
Whatever your worry, we’re here to help you with any difficulties and anxieties you’re experiencing as a result of the pandemic. You can get support the way you feel most comfortable: via our free phone helpline, quick online referral form, webchat or friendly information and advice.
Please visit website for full information https://www.barnardos.org.uk/
As one of the UK's leading children's charities, Barnardo's works directly with over 200,000 children, young people and their families every year. We run over 800 vital services across the UK, including counselling for children who have been abused, fostering and adoption services, vocational training and disability inclusion groups.
Every Barnardo's service is different but each believes in the potential in every child and young person, no matter who they are, what they have done or what they have been through.

COVID-19 IMPORTANT UPDATE
NYAS are sending our best wishes to everyone right now in these uncertain times.
We want to reassure you we’ll do everything in our power to support vulnerable children and young people with independent advocacy and legal representation across England and Wales.
We believe it is critical to do our part to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 whilst still delivering our range of services safely. As a national rights based charity, our teams are well placed and experienced in remote and mobile working. A challenge like Coronavirus means young people may need support in new and different ways. We are confident that we can use alternative communication methods which will enable us to continue to deliver our services for as long as it is possible to do so.
Our helpline is ready to support you please call 0808 808 1001 or email help@nyas.net
The National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) is a rights based charity which operates across England and Wales for children, young people and adults.
The National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) is a unique, 'not for profit', children's charity which supplies a range of independent services to children and young people, their families and appropriately involved adults.
NYAS advocacy services provide children and young people with information about their rights and entitlements and assistance to enable them to use formal complaints procedures if that is what they want, and to have a voice and be heard when decisions are made about their lives.
NYAS also provides Independent Visitor services for children who have had little or no contact with their family in the last twelve months. NYAS's Independent Visitor Service offers long-term, consistent and stable adult relationships for children and young people, who may not experience positive adult friendships. This can consist of simply going for coffee, walks, trips to the cinema, supporting the young person to keep in touch with their religion or culture, help at reviews, help with school work, sport, to sit with, or just listen and talk.

Information and Support
Monday to Friday: 9am - 5pm
Group B Strep Support (GBSS) is the world’s leading charity working to eradicate group B Strep infection in babies. We educate the public, doctors and midwives about group B Strep and provide information and support to affected families.
Group B Streptococcus is the UK's most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies, and of meningitis in babies under age 3 months.
National Helpline
We provide confidential support and information to families and professionals in a number of ways including digital, telephone and email services.
Our Helpline provides general information for guidance on group B Strep and is accessed more than 1200 times a month. This ranges from straightforward enquiries seeking information on where to get GBS testing to much lengthier conversations, with parents needing to understand much more in-depth the issues around GBS.
The average call time with a parent who has had a baby affected by GBS is approximately 30 minutes.
We support families suffering from the devastating consequences of GBS infection as well as expectant parents concerned that their baby is at risk of GBS infection.
- Many families contact us when a baby close to them falls ill. GBSS responds with information, a listening ear, and one-to-one support by phone or email.
- GBSS gives families a safe space to share their experiences with others.
- Parents and relatives may feel lonely and isolated by their experience – GBSS provides a feeling of belonging to a supportive community who understand what they are going through.
